Leave a Gift in Your Will

Make a Lasting Difference

We understand that family and friends will always come first. But once you’ve taken care of your loved ones, leaving a gift in your Will to a cause close to your heart is a powerful way to make a lasting impact.

No gift is too small. Every legacy helps create a better future.

Choosing the Right Type of Gift

There are two main ways you can leave a gift in your Will:

  1. Residuary Gift

This is a share, or the whole, of what’s left of your estate after other gifts and expenses have been paid.

Many supporters choose this type of gift because it maintains its value over time and is not affected by inflation.

  1. Pecuniary Gift

This is a specific amount of money or a valuable item—such as jewellery, artwork, or furniture—that you would like to leave to one of our charity partners.

Once you’ve decided which type of gift to leave, you’ll need to provide your solicitor with the charity’s official name, address, and registered charity number. We’re happy to supply these details—just ask.

Already Made a Will? You Can Still Include a Gift to Charity

If you already have a Will, there are two simple ways to include a charitable gift:

Option 1: Write a New Will

Creating a new Will automatically replaces any previous ones. A local solicitor or professional advisor can help you through the process.

Option 2: Add a Codicil

A codicil is a straightforward legal document that makes changes to your existing Will. It’s ideal for adding a new gift without rewriting the entire Will. This can also be done with the help of a solicitor or advisor.

Thank you!
