Building Community DEMENTIA CARE Through Shared Moments
- On Sunday 7th September 2025, Alcester Mayor, David Henderson and Deputy Mayor (and Alcester Mayor in 2026) Gill Forman start the official launch of 100 coffee mornings, to be held over 2 years, to raise funds for the Mayor’s charity.
- The Mayor of Alcester’s Charity is Alcester Day Care which supports people with dementia and their carers.
- Will you help us by having a coffee morning and inviting family, friends and neighbours and asking for a small donation? Or hold one at work?
- Alcester Day Care is a local charity here in Alcester, run by volunteers with paid care workers, it provides a safe and caring environment for those with dementia.

Coffee gatherings have a long history as social rituals where people exchanged news and strengthened bonds. These informal events inspired modern coffee mornings, which serve as spaces for community connection and bonding.
You can invite your family, friends and neighbours to drop around for a coffee/tea and a biscuit or piece of cake. Or why not host one at work?
- Please register your coffee morning with us by ringing 01789 765971 (answerphone) or day care (Mon/Wed/Thursdays 9.30-3.30) 07841699765 or email your details to us info@alcesterdaycare.org please provide your name, phone /mobile number, email address, location of the coffee morning and date to be held
- Ask friends/family/colleagues to help.
- Provide everyone with the details of your event and let them know its for a local charity supported by the Mayor of Alcester. On arrival, welcome your guests, serve refreshments and ask them to make a small donation for the Mayor’s charity, by placing a bowl or money box on the table and enjoy the chatter! If everyone agrees, take a photo and let us know about your fundraising.
